Hilarious Bowflex Ad
As many of you know, some of my work involves creating banners for online advertisements. As a creator of banners, I laughed myself silly at this ad from Bowflex. Mentioned in an earlier posting, context can really affect the overall impression something presents.
Mary Lou Retton as the 6 Million Dollar Gymnast
In this ad, the context (which would have shown her natural human legs) is cropped, giving the impression she is using Bowflex equipment to wrangle her bionic legs backwards and up over her shoulders. I heart this banner and would love to know the story behind it if anyone knows who made it.
